Kingdom Homes Adds Another Care Home To The Group

By | Kingdom Homes News, News

We are delighted to announce that Finavon Court Care Home in Glenrothes officially became part of the Kingdom Homes group today, 31st May 2018. The 24-bedroom purpose built care home was previously owned by the Bield Housing & Care organisation and provides residential care for older people. The care home had been threatened with closure but the purchase by Kingdom Homes means that residents will transfer over without any disruption to their lives and staff will keep their jobs.

Colin Smart said that he is delighted to welcome the residents and staff to the Kingdom Homes family, making this the twelfth care home owned and operated by the Group in Fife. Over the next few months Kingdom Homes will continue to invest in the future of Finavon Court, following the tried and tested model of the other care homes in our Group.

The handover took place at midday with Charlie Dickson and Caryn Innes there to represent Bield.

Art In Care Exhibition Draws The Crowds

By | News

Kingdom Homes recently held an art exhibition in Kirkcaldy’s Community Hub to showcase the artistic talents of our residents. The event aimed, not only to show off the art work, but also to show that living in a care home can be a brand new beginning with the possibility to try something new.

The exhibition was a great success, attracting many visitors over the five days. Some of the projects which have been ongoing since the start of this year, enabled the wider community to be involved with schools, nurseries and residents’ families working together with the residents to produce some fine paintings, crafts and sculptures.

We asked Raith Rovers, our local football team to perform the official opening and they were delighted to help, sending Craig Easton and Roary Rover to cut the ribbon watched by a few of our residents, staff and children from Little Einsteins Nursery in Kirkcaldy (main picture above).

A Cracking Response to John’s Easter Egg Quest

By | Kingdom Homes News, News

John McCabe, Head Chef at Preston House Glenrothes, organised a collection of Easter eggs for the pupils of John Fergus School Glenrothes and the Childrens Ward at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. The response from staff, residents and their families was tremendous.
John would like to thank everyone for their support, including Ryan Wallace who organised a collection at our Head Office too. In total over 100 eggs were handed in.
A few pupils from John Fergus School called in to Preston House to meet the residents and choose an Easter egg for each of the 24 pupils at the school. The remaining eggs were delivered to the Victoria Hospital in time for Easter.

An Egg-cellent result!
