Kingdom Homes director, Julie Anderson, is holding drop in sessions at each of the company’s care homes for anyone – staff, relatives and friends interested in becoming Dementia Champions. The first of these meetings took place at Lomond View Care Home in Falkland this week.
The sessions are intended to inform those who would like to learn more about activities and therapies which enhance the lives of residents with Dementia, enabling them to have meaningful and stimulating activity. It is the aim to have several Dementia Champions within each of our care homes delivering activities based on the “Namaste Care” principles founded in the USA by Joyce Simard.
There are many benefits to those with advanced dementia and if teamed up with the resident’s relative can bring back a closeness which may have diminished as the dementia illness has progressed.
For anyone who would like more information about becoming a Kingdom Homes Dementia Champion in any of our care homes please call Julie Anderson on 01592 722227.
