For Elizabeth Blair, who lives at Methven House Nursing Home, Craigtoun Meadows Caravan Park holds special memories for this is where she and her husband set up their first home when they got married. Elizabeth asked if it would be possible for her to pay a visit there.
Accompanied by some members of her family Elizabeth set off on our minibus on Thursday 27th April. As we drove along roads Elizabeth had travelled many times she began reminiscing and recalled one day when her husband jumped out of the car, opened the passenger door and said to Elizabeth ” You’re driving now”. At the time Elizabeth hadn’t driven for years but she got behind the wheel she said, and soon got the hang of it again.
When we arrived at the caravan site Elizabeth guided us to the area where the caravan she owned had sat. Although the park had changed somewhat she knew the area very well. Now in need of a cuppa, Elizabeth and her family had a coffee in the on-site café.
Next we got back on the bus and drove to St Andrews for a spot of shopping. We also stopped for lunch on the way home and Elizabeth enjoyed a ploughman’s lunch and more coffee. All in all Elizabeth had a fabulous day out and we were delighted to be able to fulfil her wish.
