It was another great evening at our annual Staff Awards night which was held at the Victoria Hotel in Kirkcaldy. Always a good reason for staff to forget their duties for one evening, let their hair down and enjoy themselves and celebrate their success. This year there were over 100 staff in attendance.
The evening kicked off with a welcome speech by Managing Director, Colin Smart. Margaret Smart, Care Director, presented the awards after which there was a buffet and disco.
This year SVQ candidates who have completed various level of qualifications in 2017 were presented with their certificates.
Staff who received Long Service Awards of 5, 10, 15 and 25 Years are pictured below (left). On the right are Sharon Adams and Steven Hunter who have each reached 25 years service and Julie Anderson and Shirley Crouch who have worked for Kingdom Homes for 30 years!
Employee of the Year award winners who are voted for by residents and their families and fellow colleagues. Congratulations everyone!
We had two Special Recognition award winners in 2017 – Robert Culross, (below left) chef at Roselea House, was recognised for his work in creating pureed food dishes for residents with swallowing difficulties and Ian Thomson (below right) who has been a Volunteer at Methven House in Kirkcaldy for more years than anyone can exactly remember and is thought very highly of by everyone there for his hard work.
During 2017 Kingdom Homes has also appointed Dementia Champions consisting of volunteers from staff at all roles, relatives and even a couple of residents who want to have a better understanding of dementia and how it affects their fellow residents who have been diagnosed with the condition. They were presented with forget-me-not pin badges to identify them within our care homes.
