Kingdom Homes Limited celebrated 25 years caring for the elderly on 4th December 2009. It was on that date in 1984 that the first Care Home, Methven House which was originally situated in Sang Road Kirkcaldy, opened its doors to residents. Methven House has since been replaced by a purpose built 60 bedroom facility in nearby Bennochy Road. The original building in Sang Road continues to serve an important function within the organisation however and now houses Kingdom Kiddies Nursery and After School Care facility which is also part of Kingdom Homes Limited.
Several events were held throughout 2009 to mark this special anniversary including garden parties in each care home over the summer months.
An Anniversary Ball was held on the 4th December in the Dean Park Hotel, Kirkcaldy when those most closely associated with the company along with friends and family of Colin and Margaret Smart were invited to celebrate the success and toast the next 25 years for Kingdom Homes.
The organisation has gone from strength to strength over the last quarter century and currently has seven Care Homes spread throughout Fife providing a mixture of residential and nursing care facilities for a total of 292 residents.
