Kingdom Homes Limited, Fife's longest-established care home group which celebrates its silver jubilee this year, held a long service award presentation in Kirkcaldy's Dean Park Hotel.

The company operates homes in Kirkcaldy (Methven House), Cluny (Barrogil House), Crossgates (Craigie House and Alexander House), Falkland (Edward House), Auchtertool (Camilla House) and Cardenden (Fernlea House), Kingdom Construction Scotland, Kingdom Kiddies Nursery in Kirkcaldy, and Cluny-based SMART Training, and Managing Director Colin Smart thanked all the recipients for the part they had played in establishing and maintaining Kingdom Homes' position at the forefront of care in Fife.

"Kingdom Homes was founded as, always has been and always will be based upon family principles," he said, "and my wife Margaret and I, along with our fellow directors, regard everyone involved in the company as our extended family which makes an occasion such as this presentation of awards for long service all the more enjoyable and important for us all."

Continuing the family theme of the evening, Mr and Mrs Smart's grandson Ryan, aged 12 also made a speech at the ceremony where he too thanked those present for the valid and valued contribution that they had all made to the first 25 years of Kingdom Homes.
