We are delighted to announce that Kingdom Homes was selected from more than 300 entries as the winner of the "Care Home Business Award" at the Scottish Care Awards 2010. The awards have now been running for five years and have been hailed a huge success within the care industry.

The glittering awards ceremony followed the Scottish Care National Conference on Friday 5th November and was hosted by TV presenter, Michelle McManus.

In addition to the Care Home Business Award, Kingdom Homes was runner up in two other categories - the "Care Home Design Award" category for the design of our Roselea House dementia unit in Cowdenbeath and the "Training and Staff Development Award" category for our training division.

Colin Smart, Managing Director, said following the ceremony "To win the Care Home Business Award is just fantastic and testament to all the hard work that Margaret, myself and our staff teams at each of our nursing and residential homes have put in.

It was always our aim when we opened our first care home in 1984 to offer the best care in the right environment and with the very best staff and from little acorns, big things grow, however our commitment to the care of our residents is as solid as ever.

We opened our in-house training facility in 2005 to ensure our staff are trained to the highest standards of care and to date, more than 100 staff have gained certificates in a number of courses from induction level to advanced management qualifications.

Out latest project was to open our new dementia unit at Roselea House, which through intensive research into design, best practices and best environments for people with dementia now has an excellent reputation for the care of residents with dementia."
