Camilla House, nestling in the heart of Auchtertool, was a hotel prior to being converted into a Nursing Home in 1990 and enjoys a tranquil village setting surrounded by the scenic countryside of rural Fife.
Auchtertool is steeped in local history, being the site of the last duel ever fought in Scotland. More recently actor Sean Connery became a regular visitor when his grandparents lived locally.
Camilla House was extended in 2006 with a 15-bedroom extension enjoying spectacular views of the surronding countryside. A major refurbishment of the original building is being carried out. During this extensive building and remodelling work, the Home is being fitted with a direct-dial telephone system with itemised billing, swing-free door closers which are linked to the fire detection system, and a sprinkler system is being installed to all areas. These upgrades underline the priority that Kingdom Homes Ltd place on the safety of each and every one of our residents.
Camilla House benefits from its own landscaped gardens where residents can enjoy the fresh air and flowers and the Home now caters for 40 residents in 38 single rooms with en-suite toilet and shower rooms and 2 single rooms wih en-suite toilets. Rooms on the upper floor are servide by lift.
The countryside setting of Camilla House does not distance it from the many attractions of the surrounding towns like Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline, with even Edinburgh almost on the doorstep and only a short drive away.
With regular outings to the shops, shows and other attractions available as part of the Kingdom Homes Ltd outreach programme, there is always plenty to do - including a very busy schedule of events from exercise classes to reminiscence sessions and games, with inter-home competitions a regular and popular feature on the Camilla calendar. Camilla House particularly enjoys a special place in the hearts of those who attend the village Primary School and residents are also regular invited visitors to the local Community Hall.

Auchtertool sits on the B925 Kirkcaldy to Crossgates road and Camilla House is located on Main Street, Auchtertool. The village can also be accessed from the A92 Fife Regional Road, being signposted from the Lochgelly Exit.
