Since opening their first care home in Kirkcaldy in 1984, the Kingdom Homes Ltd portfolio of properties has enjoyed continual expansion, including the opening in 2005 of the custom-built Methven House at the heart of Kirkcaldy.
Taking its name from the original Kingdom Homes property in nearby Sang Road, the home already dubbed the Rolls Royce of facilities underlines the commitment of the company to provide the finest facilities at the forefront of care in Fife.
Barrogil House at Cluny was the second to come into the fold, followed by Craigie House in Crossgates, with Fernlea House in Cardenden becoming the fourth facility to become part of the company's cocoon of care before the new-build home in Bennochy Road, Kirkcaldy, became the latest piece in the Kingdom Homes Ltd jigsaw to fall into place, then in February, 2006, the company added Camilla House in Auchtertool. More recently, Edward House in Falkland and Alexander House in Crossgates, the latter built at a cost in excess of £2 million, welcomed their first residents.
Like the famous Forth Bridge at the heart of the company brand, Kingdom Homes Ltd properties all enjoy on-going refurbishment programmes to ensure that they continually offer residents the highest standard of accommodation within a warm, friendly and, above all, caring environment.
All seven homes have long been recognised as being among the best in the country and proprietors Colin and Margaret Smart proudly continue to insist upon a high standard of staff training with their own dedicated training centre and highly-qualified training manager.
