Since opening their first care home in Kirkcaldy in 1984, the Kingdom Homes Ltd portfolio of properties has enjoyed continual expansion. Methven House was the original home located in Sang Road, Kirkcaldy but the present Methven House, which was built in 2005 and opened in the September of that year, now occupies a prime site on nearby Bennochy Road, Kirkcaldy. Barrogil House at Cluny was the second to come into the fold, followed by Craigie House in Crossgates, with Fernlea House in Cardenden becoming the fourth facility to become part of the company's cocoon of care before the new-build home in Bennochy Road, Kirkcaldy. In February, 2006, the company added Camilla House in Auchtertool. More recently, Alexander House in Crossgates, built at a cost in excess of £2 million, welcomed their first residents in autumn 2007. The latest addition to the company's portfolio is Preston House in Glenrothes which opened its doors in November 2009. The facilities within Preston House underline the commitment of the company to provide the finest facilities at the forefront of care in Fife. The residents from Edward House, the company's former care home in the picturesque village of Falkland, were the first to move in to the purpose built facility. Edward House will now be demolished to make way for a future development by Kingdom Homes to erect a purpose built, 50 bed nursing home on the site.
