Established in 1984, Kingdom Homes Ltd began with one residential care home in Kirkcaldy. Through careful planning and dedication by proprietors Colin and Margaret Smart the company currently has eight care facilities throughout Fife caring for around 310 older people - four nursing homes, three residential care homes and one specialising in dementia care.

This award winning company is the largest independent provider of care for the elderly in Fife. At the 2010 Scottish Care Awards Kingdom Homes was proud to be named Care Home Business of the Year as well as being runner up in the Care Home Design category for the specialist dementia unit, Roselea House, in Cowdenbeath and also runner up in the Training and Staff Development category.
At the 2011 Scottish Care Awards the company surpassed the previous years success. Awarded first place in the Dementia Service Award category for the excellent standards of care that Roselea House has delivered since opening in April 2010. Kingdom Training took top spot this year for Training and Staff Development and Julie Smith, the company's Lifestyle Director, was runner up in the Meaningful Activity Award category for the Lifestyle Project she has developed and led this year creating more fulfilling and personally tailored activities programmes for Residents.

Safety standards are second to none with Kingdom Homes having been one of the first care organisations in Scotland to install a sprinkler system, now installed as standard in all Kingdom Homes care homes.
Meals are freshly prepared in each care home's own kitchen with the emphasis on home cooking and baking contributing to the recipe for success. Individual dietary requirements are catered for and residents enjoy a well-balanced and varied diet with a choice always available.
